Attention: changes in the notification system for workers posted to Switzerland
From March 17, 2025, companies posting workers to Switzerland must prepare for significant changes to the posting notification system. The Swiss State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) will replace the current notification system with a new online portal, EasyGov.swiss. This new solution will streamline the reporting process and simultaneously improve control over posted workers.
New EasyGov.swiss portal
The current system for reporting posted workers to Switzerland will cease to operate on March 14, 2025. However, from March 17, 2025, only EasyGov.swiss will allow for reporting posted workers to Switzerland. The new platform will significantly simplify registration and streamline reporting management, allowing companies to more efficiently fulfill their obligations.
Temporary service interruption
Neither platform will be available from March 14–17, 2025. This interruption coincides with the closure of the offices responsible for processing applications, so it will not affect planned travel arrangements. The Swiss authorities will provide detailed information regarding this period at a later date. It's worth monitoring announcements to ensure the timeline for these changes.
Registration procedure
Companies and self-employed individuals in EU, EEA and UK countries that post workers to Switzerland should:
-
Register on the EasyGov.swiss portal,
-
Obtain a company identification number (UID), which will be required to complete the delegation reporting procedure.
Individuals cannot register on the EasyGov.swiss portal before its official launch. Registration will only be possible after March 17, 2025, which means adapting to the new reporting system.
First login and data migration
After logging in to EasyGov.swiss for the first time, users will import their profiles and data from the old system. For migration, you will need:
-
Username,
-
Access to the email address associated with your account.
After the migration, previous reports and employee lists will be available. To avoid data loss, it's a good idea to back up report confirmations, as the migration can only be performed once. Therefore, preparing and securing documentation in advance can be crucial to the smooth implementation of the new system.
Penalties for failure to report and non-compliance with regulations
Employers who fail to register employees before commencing work in Switzerland face significant fines. Depending on the severity of the violation, fines can reach several thousand Swiss francs. Furthermore, failure to comply with the new requirements may result in a ban on posting employees to Switzerland. Therefore, complying with the regulations helps avoid unpleasant consequences and thus safeguards the business and its employees.
